Thanks for your interest in Jèrriais. Here is the info you require, hope it helps. 

  • Is the L’Office du Jèrriais the language commission for Jèrriais? Effectively, yes. 
    • If so when was the office founded? 1999
    • Where exactly is it located? At the Department for Children, Young People, Education and Skills (CYPES) in St Saviour, Jersey. As Geraint is also a member of L’Office du Jèrriais, his office could be considered a satellite of L’ODJ, being based at Jersey Museum and Art Gallery, St Helier, Jersey. 
  • Which letters (without and with diacritics) does the Jèrriais alphabet have? https://omniglot.com/writing/jerriais.htm 
  • Are there any dialects of Jèrriais? If so which one is the standard dialect? Yes. There may have been at least 13 different dialects of Jèrriais in the past, although most do not survive. Nowadays, we might say 3 relatively distinct dialects remain, that of the east, centre and west. The latter pertains primarily to the parish of St Ouen (St Ouënnais), which could be considered the standard dialect and is the one we teach. 
  • Could you please send me the logos of the L’Office du Jèrriais, its mother institution Department for Education, Sport and Culture, a picture of the building the L’Office du Jèrriais is based in and a map showing the geographic distribution of the dialects? You can see our Jèrriais and Government logos in my email signature. Map attached (from the Jèrriais-Français dictionary, Dr F. Le Maistre) Building pics attached (not looking its best!)
  • Is there any Jèrriais dictionary online? We do not have an officially commissioned online dictionary, although some examples seem to have magically appeared! Eg https://glosbe.com/en/nrf
